Dental Sealants
Sealants can protect the tooth from decay. They are usually done on children ages 8-14 years.
Molars can have deep grooves which can be hard to keep clean. A sealant is placed on a clean tooth with cotton surrounding the area to keep it dry. A thin layer of a plastic coating is then brushed onto the biting surface of that tooth which flows into the deep groves. A light then cures the sealant that is placed on the biting surface of that tooth.
We will check the sealant on all regular cleaning visits.
